You will find our Hotel Balatura far from the overcrowded tourist centres on the Adriatic coast, in the quiet, preserved valley of Vinodol, 6 km from the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by karst mountains and magnificent woods.

300-year old family manor and Village expansion

The 300-year old family manor, a complex of several stone houses, was reconstructed and turned into a comfortable guesthouse. During the restoration, we paid special attention to respecting the details and particularities of this historical building, and regional distinctions. Inspired by the old hotel, 14 years later some of our hotel guests decided to invest in some ruins in the neighborhood and revive a former little village.

This expansion brought us 8 new rooms (to the 10 we had before) and a lot of special benefits to largen our offer: a seminar house for workshops and yoga classes, a swimming pool and a workshop kitchen for cooking retreats.
Our chef serves vegan meals (and you can ask for a vegetarian option) based on a regional mediterrean menu.

Activities

The main aim of our hotel is creating a place for dialogue. We organize reading events and small festivals with regional and international writers. Music workshops and Yoga hours are constantly proposed.

We are pleased to recommend not so crowded beaches for swimming and bathing, hiking and biking trails, cultural itineraries, urban visits to Rijeka or daily excursions to the islands in front of our coast line or to culinaric highlights in Istria, not far from us.
