We invite you to Souda Bay near Plakias, at the southernmost point of Europe. Where the waves of the Libyan Sea kiss the Cretan shores, the continents of Europe and Africa meet.
In the immediate vicinity of this quiet bay lies the PHILOXENIA CENTRE, nestled in the impressive landscape of the southern coast of Crete, directly by the sea. A terrace overlooking the vastness of the sea, a green area with palm trees and colourful bougainvillea, a beautiful group room, a covered area for group activities, and a yurt for massages and healing treatments provide the setting for a relaxing and eventful holiday.

Surroundings

Three kilometres away is the lively resort of Plakias with cafés, taverns, music bars under the starry sky, supermarkets and shops.

Accommodation and vegetarian-vegan food

Accommodation in the traditional Hotel Souda Mare with 17 guest rooms. All rooms have a bathroom, balcony or terrace and sea view. A few minutes’ walk away, crystal-clear water and two fine pebble and sandy beaches invite you to take a dip.

Breakfast is served on the hotel terrace in the morning sun and five times a week there is an excellent vegetarian (vegan on request) Mediterranean dinner (one welcome dinner on the day of arrival, three dinners at the hotel, 1 dinner in a Greek taverna).

Programme

Every day except Saturdays, the open programme offered on site (included in the price) invites you to one to five events per day. The programme is created anew each week from the following elements, e.g.:

• Yoga
• Gentle physical exercises
• Mini Greek language course
• Free creative activities with paints and natural materials
• Greek fairy tales, myths and anecdotes
• Meditation & mantra singing
• Mindfulness exercises
• Relaxation and guided imagery
• A half-day hike
