We are a vegan couple Sarah and Jon, and we moved from the UK to Portugal to pursue a slower-paced, more sustainable lifestyle. We found our sanctuary 10 minutes from Monchique, in the Algarve mountains. We would love to invite you to come and stay with us and experience the peacefulness yourselves.

We strive to tread more gently on the earth and work with, not against nature. We are creating a permaculture-inspired garden, not only to produce organic food for ourselves and our guests but also to create a biodiversity haven.

The Room

We are a small B&B that offers a personal touch and a quiet place to enjoy your vacation. We have one main studio room which ensures guests have the space and tranquillity that we want to offer. If you’d like to book as a group, e.g. for hiking or biking we can sleep up to 6 and can offer full vegan catering.

The room has a kitchenette for self-catered stays and a fireplace if booking during the colder months. There is a private entrance and an ensuite shower room.

Guests can relax in the shade in our outdoor seating area with a hammock and you will also have access to the outdoor kitchen which has a BBQ, pizza oven, and fridge/freezer. For the cooler months, there is a hot tub available, perfect for star-gazing as we have no light pollution here!

The Food

A self-serve breakfast is included with the room (bread, jam, muesli, yoghurt, etc.), and we also offer guests the option to book different breakfast options, lunches, and dinners. All food is vegan and we use organic fruits and vegetables from the garden when available.

We can cater to most dietary requirements such as gluten-free/soy allergy etc.

The Surroundings

The Algarve is most famous for its beautiful beaches, however the beautiful green mountainous area of Monchique is completely different and perfect for those wishing to stay in a more peaceful location but still have great access to explore the rest of the Algarve.

We are in a small valley with only one neighbour and surrounded by trees (including the famous Cork Oak trees). We have many birds both resident to the area and migratory, including birds of prey (such as eagles and buzzards), woodpeckers, jays, song birds, hoopoes, owls and more. There is a river running through the valley which has frogs, terrapins, a visiting heron, kingfishers etc. We were once lucky enough to even spot an otter!

Please note that a vehicle is required to stay with us. We are in a rural location with limited public transport. The nearest town is a 10-minute drive where there is a supermarket, pharmacy, shops, petrol station, post office etc.
