Wartena Hoeve

Bed & Breakfast Wartena Hoeve is situated in Warten, a small village in the countryside of Friesland in the north of the Netherlands. For years it used to be a dairy farm, until we bought the place in 2005 and transformed it, after a major renovation, into a Bed & Breakfast accommodation.

As soon as our guests set foot on our property they tend to remark “what a wonderful spot” it is: the waterside with boats passing by…
Our B&B has 6 spacious, tastefully decorated guest rooms (each with private bathroom), five located on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The latter is also fit for disabled people.

Vegetarian-vegan breakfast buffet

In the morning we serve a varied, vegetarian breakfast buffet (with vegan options). This includes a.o. local treats, fresh orange juice, homemade jam and smoothies. On sunny mornings you can enjoy having your breakfast on our terrace at the waterside.

The Surroundings

The surroundings of Wartena Hoeve are very quiet. However Leeuwarden, the vivid capital of Friesland, is only 11 km away. This part of the Netherlands is ideal to explore by bike.
Guests who arrive by boat can moor their boat at our own quay. This possibility also exists for canoeists and rowers thanks to a low-lying rowing deck. In the vicinity, several restaurants (e.g. by boat) are easy to reach, for example in Warten itself, Eernewoude or Leeuwarden.
For more than ten years we have been a familiar address for people who long to have a short holiday!
